Allantoin (INCI: Allantoin · CAS 97-59-6 · 99–101% purity) is a white crystalline powder used as a skin soothing active, and moisturizer in cosmetic formulations. Effective at 0.1–2%. Water soluble. Stable at pH 3–8. Non-irritating, non-sensitizing. Compatible with AHA, BHA, and sensitive skin formulations. Melting point 225°C. Preservative-free.
