C12-15 Alkyl Benzoate
C12-15 Alkyl Benzoate is a lightweight, dry-feeling emollient ester that also functions as a broad-spectrum solvent. It is produced from the reaction of C12–C15 alcohols and benzoic acid. In cosmetic formulations, it improves spreadability by adding slip and reducing drag on the skin. It is commonly used in hair sprays, creams, lotions, makeup products, and also serves as an effective plasticizer for acrylic polymers in nail lacquer formulations.
